The following is a message from the Healthy Communities Team at Dudley Council:
This will be the second network following the success of the first network meeting in Nov 2020, where key issues were identified and impact from the current covid-19 crisis on older people and across younger age groups. The second network will focus on developing a vision for the network and the actions we want to take place in the coming months to help people stay connected. If you are unable to attend, we welcome any representative from your organisation/ group.
The network is also open to local residents and community groups.
Mental health has been at a low level in the community with loneliness and isolation exacerbated by prolonged lockdown periods, social distancing and self-isolation measures. We are now looking at the effect of this for post lockdown and what support and adaptability is needed to enable people to reconnect.
This event is intended to bring together local people, groups, communities and organisations to examine what our vision and aim should be going forward in order to support the changes which need to be made.
The network event will be an opportunity to:
Consider what the purpose of the network should be.
What we want to achieve and put in place post COVID.
Look specifically at high risk groups/health inequalities and ways to target support.
Further support for digital inclusion.
The network event will be hosted by Just Straight Talk and Dudley Mind.
Join us on Thursday 18th March 2021, at 14.00 – 16.00.
