The Daily Pause for Friday 9th April 2021 is from the Beacon Centre, who have been running a digital inclusion project, to help people with sight loss and other long-term conditions to develop the skills they need to access the digital world.
Participants have been learning how to access services online and place orders for supermarket deliveries. They have also had the chance to use a loan device to enable them to get online during lockdown.
The digital inclusion programme has been funded by Wolverhampton and Dudley Councils. The Beacon Centre hope that by improving people′s digital access, they will feel less lonely and isolated and more independent. Being able to engage with services online will also help to reduce people′s risk of catching Covid-19.
