SHINE A LIGHT DEMENTIA CHOIR

Exciting Announcement: Join the Dementia-Friendly Singing Group in the Black Country!

We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to all individuals with dementia and their dedicated carers to attend the highly anticipated launch of the ‘Shine a Light’ dementia choir this September in the Black Country. This incredible initiative, established by Black Country Brighter Lives, the registered charity of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is open to anyone with a dementia diagnosis residing in Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton, or Dudley.

Starting from the 5th of September, the sessions will be held every Tuesday at the West Bromwich Baptist Church, spanning ten weeks and culminating in a magnificent final performance. The primary objective of this choir is to combat social isolation, foster a sense of community, and provide individuals with dementia a platform to express themselves and feel a true sense of belonging.

Rest assured, the group will receive unwavering support from our team of dedicated clinicians and health professionals from the Trust. Guiding the choir will be the immensely talented singing teacher and community choir leader, Sarah Jones. With her expertise and passion, she will ensure that the sessions are relaxed, informal, and welcoming to all, regardless of previous singing experience.

We kindly request your assistance in spreading the word about this incredible opportunity. Please take a moment to share the attached flyer with your contacts, as we believe that this choir has the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of those affected by dementia.
